Aluminum empty enclosures and terminal boxes from ROSE and BOPLA

Aluminum enclosures provide excellent (EMC) protection of electronics. Due to the high load capacity of the aluminum material, the enclosures are suitable for applications with the highest requirements. The protection class is standard IP65/66 up to IP68. Various housing dimensions and a wide range of accessories offer an optimal solution for a variety of applications. On request, we supply the housings in special colors or uncoated. For particularly high protection requirements, the housings are available with special EMC shielding measures or with a special seawater-resistant coating. The classic application of these housings is as terminal housings equipped with terminal blocks and cable glands. For further protection, all Phoenix Mecano aluminum enclosures are passivated with SurTec650 before powder coating.

Aluminum enclosure as terminal box

The classic application of aluminum enclosures is as terminal boxes or distribution boxes in industry. Aluminum enclosures are light and yet very robust. They are ideal for the installation of electromechanical components and terminals. The side walls are provided with threads for mounting cable glands. The thickness of the side walls has been chosen so that the glands can be easily screwed without a locknut. Since the terminal boxes can be equipped with terminals and pushbuttons in different numbers, but also in different installation heights, we have a variety of more than 70 different sizes of aluminum enclosures. Mostly the cover is screwable with captive screws. For applications where the enclosure must be opened regularly, some aluminum enclosures have a lid with an integrated hinge. We take over the complete processing and assembly of cable glands and terminal blocks according to your choice.

Aluminum enclosures for electronics in MSR measurement and control technology

The aluminum enclosures series Aluform and Bocube Alu were developed for the installation of electronics for measurement and control technology. The height of the enclosure is much more compact and in the lower part as well as the lid various domes for mounting PCBs are already cast on. The Bocube Alu series also has the option of a recessed foil area on the lid to accommodate a membrane keypad. In addition, the Bocube enclosure has an integrated hinge with quick release for easier opening of the lid. However, the lid can still be screwed on without further ado. The lid screws are covered by an attractive cap. The material aluminum has excellent EMC properties for the protection of the electronics and for the shielding of interfering radiation.

Properties and advantages of aluminum enclosures

Terminal boxes are often exposed to harsh environments. They are manufactured according to the DIN-EN 1706 standard from the high-quality aluminum alloy AC-ALSi 12c(Fe). The production is carried out by modern die casting process. Our aluminum housings are washed and passivated with SurTec 650 before painting. This ensures excellent corrosion resistance. They are also resistant to most oils and vapors. The aluminum housings are IP66 as standard. However, they can be upgraded to IP68 with a special seal, making them waterproof. Depending on the application and the field of use, various seals are available, also for EMC applications. Our spring-groove principle also ensures effective sealing. The terminal boxes are mounted via screw channels located outside the sealing area. On request, mounting is also possible via external lugs. Here is an overview of the most important features:

Our enclosures are passivated with SurTec650. This protects the aluminum from corrosion and also serves as an adhesion primer for painting. However, we can also perform surface treatments such as Alodine. Please contact us.

If you would like to have your company logo or inscription on the enclosure, this is no problem. We can print the enclosures for you using pad printing or screen printing processes. For motifs with detailed color gradient we use digital printing on a front foil.
