Customized LEAN workstations developed for your product

Each LEAN assembly workstation is individually designed and manufactured to the customer's product according to LEAN principles in order to increase productivity. The product is assembled in a one-piece flow, which increases productivity compared to "batch production" and also significantly minimizes space.

Together with the customer, the previous assembly process is examined and the MUDAS or wastes are uncovered. In the second step, a concept is developed and the assembly workstation or assembly line is designed. The focus here is on eliminating the previously uncovered wastes and consequently increasing the added value. At the same time, however, it is also important to ensure ergonomics and targeted illumination of the workplace.

Single workstation

Single workstation ergonomic and efficient for small assemblies

Single workstations are designed and set up so that one employee can efficiently assemble the complete product or an assembly in a one-piece flow. Tools, required equipment, C-parts and assembly components are within easy reach. Larger components or pre-assemblies are attached directly from the assembly cart within reach at the workstation. Customized turning and holding devices ensure that the employee can work efficiently with both hands. After testing, the assembled product is immediately packed ready for transport or made available on an assembly cart for the next production step. Material is supplied from behind directly to the shelves at the workstation. A SETAGO® Pick by Light system can be used to support the employee during assembly. Physically demanding or precise work can be performed by a collaborative robot.

U-shaped workstation

U-Shaped Workstation ‒ one-piece flow assembly with a large number of individual parts

The employee works centrally and thus has short distances. In a U-shaped cell, the entire process is divided into individual work steps. The tools and components required for each step are within easy reach. The material flow is based on the flow principle, whereby the product "moves" with the employee from place to place through the process. The material is fed directly into the racks from behind, thus guaranteeing the FIFO principle.

Assembly line

Assembly lines with a high number of variants and a large number of components

In an assembly line, the assembly process is distributed to several workstations and interconnected by a material flow system. Depending on the workload, several people can also assemble in the line at the same time. However, the synchronization of the individual assembly steps should be ensured. The assembly line can be quickly and easily changed over to different product variants. If, for example, a test station, press-fit device or soldering station is required for a product variant, these are mounted on mobile trolleys and can be integrated into the assembly line at the required location. Required assembly material is docked to the workstation via trolleys.

Assembly trolleys for heavy products

Assembly trolleys are used along an assembly line when the product is very heavy or unwieldy. Moving from workstation to workstation by hand or roller conveyor is not possible. Assembly trolleys are height adjustable and the support of the product can be tilted and rotated. This allows the employee to comfortably and ergonomically assemble the product. The necessary tools are also attached to the trolley and are always at hand in the right place. The trolley can be firmly guided along the assembly line or freely moved and fixed.
